At JAESPA Maschinenfabrik Karl Jäger GmbH, we define occupational health and safety as the measures, resources, and methods employed to protect our employees from work-related safety and health hazards. Our primary objective is the prevention of workplace accidents and the protection of the health of our employees and third parties. For this reason, we ensure that all legally required occupational health and safety measures and regulations are implemented, taking into account the specific circumstances. Every manager is responsible for being familiar with safety regulations and for instructing their employees accordingly—or for ensuring that such instruction is provided by third parties. We, along with all supervisors and employees, share equal responsibility for ensuring strict compliance. All employees are required to adhere to applicable national and European legal provisions—specifically the accident prevention regulations issued by the professional liability insurance associations—as a minimum standard, as well as to the relevant work instructions. How these regulations are to be applied in day-to-day operations is taught during an annual safety training session, attendance at which is mandatory for all employees. Furthermore, all statutory regulations also apply to external business partners performing work on our company premises.
22 Working conditions and work environment
In addition to direct protective measures aimed at preventing safety and health hazards, we also ensure a safe and health-promoting work environment. This encompasses, in particular, the following areas of action.
As a preventive measure against workplace accidents, all company facilities and equipment may be used solely for official purposes and for their intended functions, unless private use is expressly permitted. The equipment utilized at the workplace complies with all relevant regulations. To ensure this, we consistently keep all necessary permits and licenses up to date and conduct regular inspections and safety checks.
As a further precautionary measure against workplace accidents—and particularly against occupational diseases—we configure all workstations in accordance with statutory and generally recognized safety engineering and occupational health standards, thereby ensuring that work can be performed free from accidents and with minimal physical strain.
We further support this by providing ergonomic aids and protective equipment, as well as through preventive programs and health promotion measures designed to maintain and enhance our employees' health, performance, and job satisfaction.

Furthermore, JAESPA Maschinenfabrik Karl Jäger GmbH ensures this protection through regular emergency response training conducted as part of our annual occupational safety instruction, attendance at which is mandatory for all employees. This training covers, among other things, the correct use of personal protective equipment, the handling of hazardous substances and chemicals, skin and health protection, the operation of technical equipment, conduct in the event of fire or other emergencies, and first aid measures.
Should a workplace accident or other disruptions occur despite all precautions, they must be reported immediately.
This applies in particular to workplace accidents resulting in the incapacity for work of an employee or a third party. Such incidents must be reported to the competent professional association as soon as possible and documented in the first-aid logbook. The accident report must include a description of the accident's sequence of events, its consequences, its cause, and the measures planned to prevent similar accidents in the future. The implementation of such measures should be devised and carried out as quickly as possible.
Fire safety, too, is based on preventive measures and adheres to statutory regulations. Accordingly, proper conduct in the event of a fire is also addressed during the annual safety briefing. Furthermore, trained fire safety assistants have been designated to assist our employees with any questions they may have.
Furthermore, all our facilities and equipment are designed to minimize the risk of fire as much as possible—a standard we ensure through regular maintenance and inspections (e.g., by TÜV or other testing institutes).
